Eindhoven

Eindhoven is the fifth largest city in the Netherlands, it is situated in the South of the country, in a very central position between other large European cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Paris. Eindhoven is a modern industrial city, famous for its high tech companies (like Philips) and high level sports clubs but also because of its leading position in Dutch design nowadays.

The city has good connections to national and international destinations. There is an international airport at about ten minutes driving from the centre. At the central train station connections to many Dutch, Belgian and German cities are abundant.

Eindhoven has a compact and lively city centre, with good shopping possibilities, interesting museums (the newly revamped Van Abbe Museum has to be mentioned) and a rich nightlife with many pubs, bars, restaurants and cinemas. Gay nightlife in Eindhoven features several bars, a discotheque and some great parties. Furthermore a gay sports club (Kouros), some gay saunas and a gay rights organisation (COC) are part of the city's gay life.
