The events

The Smashing Valentine tournament is an official GLTA tournament. The matches will be played according to the guidelines of the GLTA (Gay & Lesbian Tennis Alliance) and the KNLTB (Royal Dutch Tennis Association), an ITF affliate. Participants can enter in singles, doubles and mixed doubles, with a maximum of two events. Please read the tournament rules on this site carefully!

Data and time table

The GLTA tournament starts on Thursday February 4th and finishes on Sunday February 7th. Please note that Thursday and Friday are full tournament days and we are unable to accept avoidances for that day.

Men's singles (A, B, C and D) will start on Thursday February 4th around noon.

All finals will be played on Sunday February 7th. The prize ceremony will follow right after the last match, at approx. 17.00 hr (5 P.M.). Please make your travel arrangements accordingly.

Maximum of entries

There will be a maximum of 250 participants. As soon as this number is reached or as soon as the maximum number of participants in a specific category is reached, new entries will be placed on a waiting list. We advise you to register as soon as possible in order to make sure you can play. An entry for a doubles category will only be accepted after the receipt of both applications. A registration is only accepted if full payment of fees is received.

Ranking

All players have to play in the appropriate GLTA division. You can find the GLTA rankings on the GLTA homepage: www.glta.net For the seeding we will use the GLTA ranking list per January 14th, 2010 and all other relevant information.
Players have always to play according their level of their National Associations, also when their GLTA level may be lower then their national level. (see the conversion table).
